This hybrid approach reduced the publication of misleading images and improved confidence in photojournalistic standards without introducing excessive delay. Best practices for deploying image detection systems emphasize layered defenses and human oversight. Recommended steps include: maintain diverse and up-to-date training datasets; use ensemble detection methods combining signal analysis and deep learning; expose confidence scores and explainability cues to human reviewers; implement continuous monitoring for model drift; and integrate cross-checks such as content provenance, reverse image search, and metadata validation.
